Welcome to District 95

The Mission of District 95

We build new clubs and support all clubs in achieving excellence.

About District 95

District 95 Slogan for 2018-2019 is 'Strong Clubs - Strong Members - Strong Organisation'

District 95 (D95) was re-born in Athens during Joint Spring Conference that took place in May 2018.

As of July 1, 2018 D95 consists of four countries: Denmark, Germany, Norway and Sweden. All in all, there are 6 divisions and 30 areas.

Toastmasters is all about personal development. However, this can never be achieved alone or by a single member. For this to happen, every member needs effective evaluation and feedback, needs to learn to keep time, watch the vocabulary and work on its enrichment, be ready for impromptu speaking, etc.

All these roles are performed by fellow colleagues – club members. That is why each member needs presence and participation of other members.  Toastmasters Club is “The Place” where all members meet, develop and grow.

Clubs establishment is the result of assiduous work, joint efforts and team work of members. Voluntarily, they take on club leadership roles. By taking on leadership roles, members develop skills that can be successfully applied inside and outside the club.

That is why I encourage you all in the new 2018-2019 Toastmaster Year to focus and support the further establishment and development of the Strong Clubs that are built by Strong Members and thus ensuring Strong Organisation.

Ahead of us is the special and exiting Toastmasters Year!

Happy Toastmastering!

Svetlana Breum, DTM

District 95 Director, 2018-2019

Welcome From Our District Director

District 95 was "born" on July 1, 2014.

It encompasses Toastmasters clubs from the Nordic Countries (Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark), Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Romania, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Ukraine, Bulgaria and the Republic of Moldova - in total 18 countries! This makes District 95 UNIQUE in the Toastmasters International global family.

Welcome from our district Director 2017/18

Good morning Fellow Toastmasters,

They say that if you’re the smartest person in the room, then you’re in the wrong room. This is the one thing I’ve always loved about Toastmasters – I’ve always felt like being in the right room!

The new Toastmasters year has just begun. It’s a great time to take a big-picture view and ask ourselves the very powerful question “Why?”!   Why are we in Toastmasters?

For most people it’s about Public Speaking. And rightly so! With hundreds of meetings taking place every week, across 18 countries in our District, you’d be hard pressed to find a better context in which to build this skill which Warren Buffet deemed absolutely invaluable.

But Toastmasters is about so much more than that!

The organization attracts very opinionated people. And not all those opinions are similar. Sooner or later we will encounter a fellow Toastmaster who thinks the exact opposite and has the strongest conviction. If we put your heart into Toastmasters, as many members do, we will find a lot of time spent this year in apparent arguments which can turn out to be the biggest lessons for us.

Being able to disagree in an agreeable way, to influence thinking in a positive way, to lead teams of totally diverse individuals, that is a core competency that we learn in Toastmasters. And if we do all this in the spirit of Integrity, Respect, Service and Excellence, then this year will turn out to be an unbelievable growth opportunity for all of us.

I guess that’s why they say that Toastmasters is Where Leaders are Made!

Myself, together with the Core Team leading the District, plus all the Division and Area Directors, we’ll be at your service, helping you and your Club to grow. Never hesitate to drop us a line for whatever you might need and we’ll be there for you.

Have a wonderful year and a challenging fun-packed learning process!

Andrei Popescu
District Director 2017-2018

District News

According to TI dashboard there are 6 divisions, 30 areas and 133 clubs.

There is no doubt – District 95 has all chances to reach the ‘President Distinguished’ by June 30, 2019. D95 did it previously and not only once.

Apart from the numbers according to which D95 will be measured as being ‘President Distinguished’, in 336 days from now, what will you/ your club/your area/your division legacy be?
