Undoubtedly you know already many of us Toastmasters spend most of our time dancing in meadows, chanting "Kumbaya, My Lord" and spreading love. Twice a year however we get a chance to abandon our jolly lives to make place for an epic showdown... the Toastmasters Contests.

Previous Thursday, some of Antwerp's finest speakers competed in the International Speech & Evaluation Contest. Majestic metaphors, awesome alliterations and secret stories sounded in the halls of BurooZ. Brave souls showed off their wits and moves for the honor of being the best speaker in the club & for a chance to compete at the next level, the area contest.
Without further ado, and slightly blushing, I present you the results:

Area contest in Brussels on Saturday, March 10th, at 12:00: More info & in attachment.
The area contest is looking very promising so far, with former International Toastmasters President Ted Corcoran giving an educational, a great venue & i'm sure many inspiring speeches & evaluations. The early bird fee of €20 has been prolonged to March 9th. Make sure you reserve quickly! (details in attachment). We are still looking for judges, timers, ballot counters. There is also a spot for a target speech (which will be evaluated by up to 8 people, a great opportunity to receive quality feedback). Also, Toastmasters Hasselt is looking for 3 judges and possibly still a target speech for their contest on Tuesday, March 6th at 20:00. Location: Olympia Hasselt (theaterzaal), Kuringersteenweg 242 in Hasselt. Please email Willy Cosyns: will.co@telenet.be if you can come!
Attending a contest is a great opportunity for you to learn from great speakers, cheer on fellow Toastmasters & enjoy the great Toastmasters atmosphere. It would be great to get as many people as possible to come to the Area Contest following saturday!
