CLADDAGH TOASTMASTERS CLUB

This unique International Toastmasters Club with an Irish flavour allows you to master communication and leadership skills in a constructive, relaxed, and fun environment.

You will become a highly regarded speaker at home, work, school, and for any other occasion.

Everyone in a Toastmasters meeting was once at the level you are now. The environment is friendly and supportive, and the self-paced programme allows you to build confidence with each speaking assignment.

  • A typical club has between 20 to 40 members who meet either weekly, biweekly or monthly. A meeting normally lasts around 90- 120 minutes.
  • There is no instructor in a Toastmasters meeting. Instead, members evaluate one another’s presentations, pointing out the strengths and suggesting improvements. This feedback process is a key part of the program’s success. Members also give impromptu talks on assigned topics, conduct meetings and develop their leadership skills.
  • Members learn communication skills by working through manuals such as the Competent Communication manual, a series of 10 self-paced speaking assignments designed to instill a basic foundation in public speaking. There are then 15 Advanced Communications manuals to choose from, covering areas from humorous speaking to Speeches by Management.

One thing that you'll love at Toastmasters meetings is the applause. At first you'll be applauded for your effort; later you'll be applauded for your skill.

The European Year of Citizens 2013 is dedicated to the rights that come with EU citizenship. Over this year, we will encourage dialogue between all levels of government, civil society and business at events and conferences around Europe to discuss those EU rights and build a vision of how the EU should be in 2020.

For more information:http://europa.eu/citizens-2013/.

We still have slots for prepared speeches. Please let me know if you wish to give a speech on the theme.

We also invite Toastmaster members and guests to submit subjects in advance to claddagh.toastmasters@gmail.com that you would like to be covered in the table topics session and or in the open forum discussion.

Everyone welcome-admission free. Please let your friends know about this meeting!
