Le Maître des tostées

Le mot «toast» vient du latin tostare dérivé du verbe »torrere», «sécher, brûler, griller». C’est un anglicisme pour une  «tostée» (rôtie de pain, tranche de pain grillé), souvent servie avec du vin. Par extension, porter un toast signifie lever son verre ou prononcer un bref discours, propos, compliment en l'honneur de quelqu'un ou à l'accomplissement d' un vœu.
