On January 29th, we will host another fabulous First Berlin Fifth Wednesday of the month workshop - this time, about writing speeches. In this workshop we will explore the process of speechwriting together. Your trainer for this workshop will be Gudrun Wahnschaffe. A member of Toastmasters International since 2009, Gudrun has ample experience with all kinds of audiences. As a project manager in the field of satellite navigation, she has learned how to communicate with technical experts. She has also been a member of Comedy Club Munich, entertaining crowds on stage. At toastmasters, Gudrun has won first and second places in humorous speech competitions at the district level.
Her workshop is for all kinds of speeches, not only for Toastmasters speeches. It shall show, that preparing a speech for any occasion and also for business is no torture, but something you can really enjoy.
Members of First Berlin will enjoy the workshop for free, other toastmasters pay €5, guests pay €8. The fees are needed to help pay the rent for our venue.
Members who have completed Pathways Level 2 (or 6 speeches in the Competent Communicator manual) are eligible to compete in our international speech contest on February 19 and may be able to use the workshop to create a speech for the competition.
All other members have the opportunity to prepare a speech for one of our next club meetings. You may also secretly contact our Club Treasurer Gabriela Königsberg to ask if you could present a speech as the target speech for our evaluation contest on February 19th.
