Origins

Ideas, objects and customs have been exchanged around the globe throughout history. Until recently, it was always pretty obvious what came from where. But our world keeps getting smaller: everything from everywhere can now be found pretty much anywhere at any time, and it's getting ever harder to trace the origin... The idea for the evening is to discuss ideas, words, customs and objects and their origins. The subtler, or more obscure, the better.

In keeping with the theme, I'll be hosting the evening in Dutch and English. Members are invited to give their speech in Dutch...
